Surveillance has become the business model of the internet, with everything -from location, history, to browsing habits - under constant monitor by numerous companies, ranging from social networks like Facebook to cellphone providers. Such information is collected, compiled, analyzed, and used - regardless of the willingness of Internet users - to promote personalized advertising in order to gain profit for these companies at the expanse of users’ digital privacy.

In the past decade, data breaches and password leaks have constantly struck major companies and countless others. If one has multiple online accounts, hackers have likely leaked data from at least one of them, and this data can be used for identity theft, including online scam or internet banking fraud, causing billions of damage to the general public.

坏处段3：

It is true that a number of introverts and socially reclusive users place too much emphasis on virtual interaction, and ignore the real world outside. Also, school children, young girls, and women, with all of their personal information easily accessible online, can fall prey to online attacks such as cyber bullying, or online harassment, which can create tension and distress.
